Acts 1:13-14

13 When they arrived, they went to the room  upstairs where they were staying:

   Peter, John,

   James, Andrew,

   Philip, Thomas,

   Bartholomew, Matthew,

   James the son of Alphaeus,

   Simon the Zealot,

and Judas the son of James.

14 All these were continually united  in prayer,  along with the women, including Mary  the mother of Jesus, and His brothers.

Acts 13:1-2

In the church that was at Antioch there were prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius the Cyrenian, Manaen, a close friend of Herod the tetrarch,  and Saul.

2 As they were ministering to  the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for Me Barnabas and Saul for the work I have called them to.”  3 Then after they had fasted, prayed, and laid hands on them, they sent them off.

Prayer is an admission that I don’t have the answer and I’m not the answer.

Prayer is a submission to the sovereignty of God.

Prayer is a cry for God to show up and show off.
