Lamp & Light

Psalm 119:97-105
How I love Your instruction!
It is my meditation all day long.
Your commands make me wiser than my enemies,
for they are always with me.
I have more insight than all my teachers
because Your decrees are my meditation.
I understand more than the elders
because I obey Your precepts.
I have kept my feet from every evil path
to follow Your word.
I have not turned from Your judgments,
for You Yourself have instructed me.
How sweet Your word is to my taste—
sweeter than honey in my mouth.
I gain understanding from Your precepts;
therefore I hate every false way.
Your word is a lamp for my feet
and a light on my path.

Psalm 119:97
How I love Your instruction!
It is my meditation all day long.

Love for the Word is a CHOICE
EMOTIONS change. The BIBLE does not.
FAILURE will happen. Don’t GIVE UP.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8
Love is patient, love is kind.
Love does not envy,
is not boastful, is not conceited,
does not act improperly,
is not selfish, is not provoked,
and does not keep a record of wrongs.
Love finds no joy in unrighteousness
but rejoices in the truth.
It bears all things, believes all things,
hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never ends.

Psalm 119:103
How sweet Your word is to my taste—
sweeter than honey in my mouth.

PASSION for the Word is the result of an EXTENDED commitment to the Word.
Healthy EMOTION follows COMMITMENT.
Goal is TRANSFORMATION and that requires WORK.

Acts 4:13-19
When they observed the boldness of Peter and John and realized that they were uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed and recognized that they had been with Jesus. And since they saw the man who had been healed standing with them, they had nothing to say in response. After they had ordered them to leave the Sanhedrin, they conferred among themselves, 16 saying, “What should we do with these men? For an obvious sign, evident to all who live in Jerusalem, has been done through them, and we cannot deny it! However, so this does not spread any further among the people, let’s threaten them against speaking to anyone in this name again.” 18 So they called for them and ordered them not to preach or teach at all in the name of Jesus.
But Peter and John answered them, “Whether it’s right in the sight of God for us to listen to you rather than to God, you decide; 20for we are unable to stop speaking about what we have seen and heard.”

THINK about the Word.
PRAY the Word.
MEMORIZE the Word
TALK about the Word.
APPLY the Word.
PREPARE for the Word.
